Spirulina recipies
Basic shake
1 tsp. of Spirulina
1 tall glass of Fruit Juice (Apple, Orange, Pineapple, Apricot or Berry etc)
Use an air tight container to shake and make.
Weight Management & Protein Requirements - Add 1 serving of Protein Powder to help with excessive appetite urges and to normalise blood sugar levels. (Optional - substitute Fruit Juice for Water).
Weight Gain - Add 1 serving of high calorie Protein/Carbohydrate Powder and substitute Fruit Juice with full Cream Milk, for added calories.
Veggie cocktail
1 tsp. of Spirulina
1/2 cup of ice (pulse to crush)
1 cup of Vegetable Juice (Carrot, Tomatoe etc)
(Optional - 2 tsp. of Almonds or shelled Sunflower Seeds for extra texture)
Blend together and season with a little Salt and Pepper if needed. For extra flavour - add herbs and Spices (Parsley, Dill, Chilli, Tabasco, Cayenne, and Horseradish to suit your taste)
Cornucopia
1 tsp. of Spirulina
1 Tbsp. of Flaxofibre™
1 tsp. of Flaxomega™ Flax oil
40mls of Aloe max™ Aloe Vera Juice
1 dollop of Acidophilus Yoghurt
1 Fruit portion such as Banana or Berries
2 cups of Soymilk or Fruit Juice
Blend together for a delicious, fully nutritious smoothie. (Optional - Strain froth off). Servies 2.
Cool smoothie
1 tsp. of Spirulina
1 dollop of Acidophilus Yoghurt
1/2 cup Ice (pulse to crush)
1 cup of Soymilk, Fruit Juice or Milk
1 Fruit portion such as Banana or Berries
1 sprig of fresh chopped Mint leaves
Blend together and enjoy the cool soothing flavours.
Berry smoothie
1 tsp. of Spirulina
1 cup of Apple & Blackcurrent Juice
1/2 cup of Berries
(Optional - Banana and/or Ice to thicken)
Blend together and garnish with a dollop of Acidophilus Yoghurt, Cinnamon or whole Berries.
Easy dressing
1/2 tsp. of Spirulina
3 Tbsp. of Flaxomega™ Flax oil
1 Tbsp. of Lemon Juice
1 minced Clove of Garlic (Optional)
Salt and Pepper to taste.
Blend or shake to mix. Toss Easy Dressing onto Lettuc greens and favourite salad ingredients. For extra heat, drizzle Red Chilli Oil over drizzled green Easy Dressing for taste and colour.
Green dairyless alfredo sauce
250g Tofu
1/2 cup of Soymilk
1 Tbsp. of Tahini
1 Tbsp. of Pesto
1 minced Clove of Garlic
1/4 tsp. of Cayenne
Salt and Pepper to season
Blend together and heat until hot - Adding 1 tsp. Spirulina to sauce after heating (sauce) just prior to serving to retain Spirulina's active qualities. Add sauce to favourite pasta dish.
Middle eastern dip
4 tsp. of Tahini
1 minced Clove of Garlic
1/4 tsp. of Cayenne
1/2-1 tsp. of Spirulina
1 tub of Hummus Dip
Blend together until consistency is smooth and serve with rice crackers or pita bread and tomatoe slices.
Asian infusion
4 Tbsp. of Olive Oil or Flaxomega™ Flax Oil
1-2 juice of Limes
1/2-1 grated Lime Rind
2-3 tsp. of Toasted Sesame Seeds
1 Tbsp. of Brown Sugar
1/2 tsp. of Spirulina
(Optional - 1/4 tsp. Sesame Seed Oil & 1 tsp. of Soy Sauce)
Blend or shake to mix. Serve with your favourite pan-fried or steamed cooked fish.
